Welcome November!

Halloween has come and gone, and with Thanksgiving just 3 weeks away, everyone who is warm and dry with their loved one has something to be thankful for. So cozy up, and enjoy a few of the heartwarming photos added to the community this week.

You can make your own Keepers compilation too! Click Keep on any public photo in the WedOverHeels community, create a new public Keepers folder, and then attach it to a new blog post. It's our version of an instant inspiration board. All photos link back to their original albums where you can comment.

And don't forget to spread a little love too!

Adorn Your Locks

26
OCT

Shabby Chic hair wreath that brings elements of varying texture to add wow to your locks.

By akikofloral | Reblogs: 1 | View Source

Hello all, it's Jenn here!

Today I thought we'd bring to you a photo shoot that was done earlier this year. It was the first time we had been approached by Becky with Just For You Photography to be a part of one her photo shoots. We're glad we said yes. These photos have been featured in many blogs, not only by those involved, but on Wedding Chicks, as well as in Confetti an Irish Wedding Magazine. It has been truly exciting!

So, in my first conversation with Becky, she had asked for a headpiece to be made with a vintage look. So the thought process started. Well, not really. I just ran to the wholesaler, got some items to fit in and dug through my scrapbook drawer to find beautiful but fitting accents to style the look.

I was working on this piece not really knowing where it would go.  I trusted my instincts and just went with it.  I let the willow control how it would fit.  I didn't try to manipulate it too much.  I found it looked much more natural this way.  I added all elements, fresh, fabric, paper and feather.  This is how it turned out.

Falling into Autum

Autumn is all about colour and texture. How can you mix these elements to create a bouquet that screams autumn for your fall wedding?

By akikofloral | Reblogs: 0 | View Source

Hello all!

It has been far too long since our last blog post.  Many things have happened aside from the many weddings and events we were a part of.  The biggest news is the launch of Jennifer Pederson Signature Florist.  This will be the name under which all of our custom work will be done.  Why?  Because Akiko Floral Artistry will shortly be introducing packaged weddings.  Not to worry, we won't have everyday boring designs, but will be creating seasonal packages that will still wow!

Well, this is the time of year where homes and store windows are filled with the rich deep hues of oranges, reds, yellows and browns.  We always seem to concentrate on the colours for our home decor, but what about weddings?

Although there aren't too many weddings that happen after the beginning of October, we thought we would explore the options available to the fall brides in our audience.  Well, the brides that have an autumn colour palette in mind!

Viburnum berries, cymbidium orchid, red hanging amaranthus, and dahlias all arranged within a simple ornamental artichoke.
